CBS College Program/Research Talent Award

For current CBS students

We are pleased to announce the CBS College Program/Research Talent Challenge, recognizing academic achievement and dedication to fostering intercultural environments and student living within the CBS. 

Criteria:

  • Demonstrated scholarly achievement in Mechanical Engineering (International) at KIT, based on academic performance.
  • Commitment to the CBS College Program and its mission of promoting intercultural living and learning.
    demonstrated by:
  • Grade point average of 2.0 or higher
  • Completion of ECTS according to schedule
  • Video essay of 5 minutes or less on the topic: why study MEI, the future mechanical engineering, and CBS formats that can help and/or underscore both aspects.

These scholarships seek to honor students who excel academically while actively contributing to the CBS College Program's goal of cultivating an inclusive, culturally diverse community.

Two Scholarships in the amount of 2,000€ each will be awarded to current CBS College Program participants who will also be enrolled in CBS in the WS 2024/25.

Application Period: May 15th - June 30th, 2024

Awards will be awarded during Orientation Week 2024

Instructions for the Video Essay Project

Title: Exploring the Future: Why Study MEI and the Impact of CBS Formats

Duration: 5 minutes or less

Objective: To articulate the significance of studying Mechanical Engineering (International) (MEI) and explore the future of mechanical engineering while highlighting the role of CBS formats in supporting these endeavors. 

Ideas:

  • Begin by introducing yourself and the purpose of the video essay.
  • Explain why studying MEI is important, highlighting its relevance in today's technological landscape and its potential impact on future innovations.
  • Discuss the future of mechanical engineering, touching upon emerging trends, technologies, and challenges that students studying MEI may encounter. 
  • Explore the role of CBS formats in supporting MEI students, emphasizing how these formats contribute to fostering intercultural environments and promoting learning experiences that are relevant to the field of mechanical engineering.
  • Provide examples of specific CBS formats (e.g., workshops, seminars, cultural exchange programs) that can help MEI students develop skills and perspectives beneficial for their academic and professional growth.
  • Share personal insights or experiences related to studying MEI and participating in CBS formats, if applicable.
  • Conclude by summarizing the key points duscussed and reiterating the importance of studying MEI and leveraging CBS formats to enhance the learning journey.
